Korukonda Sainik School Admission notification for 2013-14 is released. Admissions to classes 6th and 9th for 2013-14 will be conducted through an entrance test. The uniqueness of this school is that, it will prepare the children academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy.
Age Limit & Eligibility for Korukonda Sainik School Admission: –For Class 6th – Boys should be born between 02 Jul 2002 & 01 Jul 2003. –For Class 9th – Boys born between 02 Jul 1999 & 01 Jul 2000. –Students and should have passed class 5th or 8th from a recognized School before admission. Curriculum: 10 + 2 System of CBSE Korukonda Sainik School Entrance Examination: 06 January 2013 (Sunday) Examination Centres: Guntur, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Tirupathi, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram. Scholarships: Merit Scholarships, Income based Scholarships and Defence Scholarships are available. The Social Welfare & Tribal Welfare Departments award Scholarships to the SC/ST boys whose parent's income is less than Rs.18,000/- per annum under Bright Boys of Best Available Schools Scheme. Free Education (Tuition Fees, Clothing Fees and dietary charges only) on Merit-cum-Means basis for Andhra domicile students from economically weaker sections of society and whose parental income is below Rs,2,000/- per month. Reservation: For S.C. 15%, for S.T. 7.5% and for Defence 25% Approximate Vacancies Class 6th-65 seats, Class 9th-25 (including all Reservations of State / Other States / Union Territory). In case of non-availability of sufficient candidates in SC/ST Category vacancies, if any, will be filled in by candidates from General Category. Applications for Sainik School Admission: – Prospectus, Application Form and last year's question papers can be obtained from 'the Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda, Vizianagaram District, A.P PIN – 535 214' on payment of Rs.475/- (Rupees Four Hundred and Seventy Five only) or Rs.325/- (Rupees Three Hundred and Twenty Five only in case of SC & ST) through crossed demand draft payable at State Bank of India, Sainik School, Korukonda Branch, Code No.2791 in favour of The Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda along with a self addressed envelope of size 26 cm x 20 cms without postage. –Sample Question Papers for Class VI & IX of Previous years will be available till stock exists on additional payment of Rs.25/- (Rupees Twenty Five only) per set.
